In spite of those things, I tried my best to set up each shot keeping composition and what constitutes a landscape photo in mind. In each of these photos below, you see not only natural formations, but the way in which human presence has altered nature's landscape.
This one... a mountain in the background and development in the foreground.

I took this shot from a farmer's field that was probably forest at one point. I like how the tree line draws your eye around the edge of the field.

Another view from the same field.

I like this shot for the way the road and rounded yard create movement in the photo.

Same thing here. I like how the road creates a kind of flow in the photo.

Does this count as a landscape photo? How much nature must a photo have in it in order to count as landscape? I'm not sure, but I included this one because I like the color of the barn. The overall blue cast of these wintery photos can get a bit old, so the warm red is a welcome sight.

Karen,
I got the impression after reading the section on landscapes that there doesn't have to be a rule in your concept of a landscape (at least I hope so since I posted a concrete jungle scene), and your barn does offer the warm touch of red. I'm partial to the last road scene...I like the sense of movement in the rounding roadway...
Murph =)
I like in the second picture the movement shown with the trees looping from one side of the picture to the other. In the other pictures the road also shows nice movement throughout your pictures.
Great job on your photos! I really like the one with the barn. The red adds a nice touch to your photo. :)
All very well done. You really have taken some good photos here.Because the light hasn't been the best, the contrast is a bit low, the the compositions are wonderful. The first one has a great variety of textures and shapes. The second one, which is my favorite, consists of three main areas of texture and the way the upper and lower shapes are bisected by the treeline is excellent composition.
The third one does not work as well.
The fourth and fifth ones are terrific in how the road provides a sweeping motion.
The sixth one with the barn is really cool how the roof line mirrors the mountain, and has the treeline coming out of it.
